Aboriginal Graduate Program
The Aboriginal Graduate Program was launched in 2010, to provide an opportunity for the University to attract Aboriginal graduates to our workforce. Each graduate rotates through a range of business areas to develop their skill set and is supported by our Aboriginal Staff Network with individualised development and mentoring plans.
The Aboriginal Graduate Program has provided me with many fantastic opportunities. The 6-month rotational structure of the program allows you to gain valuable time and experience in a variety of units within the University, each with their own challenges. The supportive network provided allows you to confidently embark on tasks and further your skills from everything between workplace activities to professional development courses. I would highly recommend this program to any aspiring graduates.

The AGP provides a boost to start your career after your degree. The program supports you to build on current knowledge and skills and assists with further development to ensure your success in the workplace. In the program I worked on meaningful work projects which helped in expanding my skillset after studying. After finish the program, I continued working at the Uni as the environment and vision of the Uni is one I am happy to be a part of.

The structure of the UniSA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduate Program enabled me to enter into the workforce with more confidence. As a first time mother starting my career with a young child was challenging. However, I was provided with and continue to receive emotional and cultural support throughout my journey.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduate Program allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and gain a professional experience that I would not have tried otherwise. This is a significant outcome as often it is difficult to enter professions without significant work experience.
I am very grateful to have been placed into a high achieving dynamic team and apply the knowledge and skills I gained in my Communication degree.
